Our project: Nicole, Kirsten, Tomas and Edvinas
Assignment 1.
Method 1 – Stacking friends
Denmark: We measured the height of Nicole, and then we tried
to see how many times she was as high as the tree. Then we found out that the
tree was 4 times higher than Nicole. We multiplied 170 cm (her height) with 4
(how many times the tree is higher), and the answer of the tree height is 6, 80
m.
Lithuania: Edvinas measured the height of Tomas,
and then Tomas stood next to a tree, near our school. Edvinas tried to see, how
many times, the tree was bigger – 3 times. Then we multiplied 166cm (the height
of Tomas) with 3 and got the result of
498cm = 4,98m.
We didn’t take a picture, sorry!

Assignment 2.
Method 2 – stick in hand
Denmark: Nicole took a stick that was as long as her arm. She
walked backwards and then she stopped when the stick was as high as the tree,
from her distance. The distance between the tree’s ground and Nicole, is now as
high as the tree.
Lithuania: Edvinas found a stick, that is as long as his arm
(59,4cm). Then he stood next to a tree and started walking backwards. He
stopped, when the stick was as tall as the tree was. The distance between
Edvinas feet and the tree was 8m.
800/59,4*59,4 = 800 cm (8.00 m)
Assignment 3.
Method 3 – The sun
Denmark: We couldn’t do the assignment because there is no sun in Denmark, right
now.
Lithuania: There was no sun here either.
Our conclusion:
Denmark: We think that the first method is the best, because it is easier to
figure out what to do.
Lithuania: We agree with Denmark, the firs method was easy
but, the second one was a little bit
complicated.
