First assignment - Natan, Christian

First assignment.

The purpose of this assignment is to see which of three methods is the best to measure a tree.

Method 1: Method one is about to see if u can measure a tree, with staking a person with help of the eye of sight.
Calculations: The person is 1,7 meters, and we stacked him four times and that is about 6,8 meters (4*1,7=6,8 meters)

Method 2: In method two, we took a stick and measured the length of the stick holders arm and then he took some steps away from the tree until the stick covered the tree form our line of sight. Then we measured the distance form the tree to the stick holder.
Calculations: Arm length is 60 cm. and the distance form the tree to the stick holder is 840 cm. (60*840/60=8,4 meters)

Method 3: In method three we measured the shadow of the tree and divide it with 2,5(Because the shadow is bigger than the tree)  to see how big the trees height.
Calculations: The length of the shadow is 15 cm. (15:2,5=6 meters)

Logbook:
October 28th we started on method one, we had no problems with method one because the weather was nice, and it did not take long before we found a tree.

October 31th we started on method two and three. we choose to begin with method 3 because  the sun was shining bright so it was easy to see the shadows. And method two was easy because we used a big 1 meter ruler as a stick, that made it easy for us to measure the length.
